Sinombre
This type of lamp was patented in France in 1809-1810 by Isaac Bordier-Marcet. Lamp was designed in such a way, that its flame illuminates objects from top to bottom, without a shadow - thus the name Sinombre (from latin without shadow). Oil was used as fuel, which due to gravity flowed down into the burner from the ring-shaped tank through the support tubes. The spiral wick regulator was built around 1802 by Smethurst and Paul in England.
